for everyone
Taken from Brett's Facebook page:

This is Brett's wife Stephanie. In case you haven't heard yet, Brett passed last night at 7:10pm. As you all know he has been fighting Hodgekin's Disease for the last 7 years. He had a recurrance this year and was undergoing more chemo in preparation for another bone marrow transplant. The treatment made his immune system non-existant and he was suseptible to anything and everything.

Wednesday morning he started feeling a little dizzy and had a slight cough but nothing major. Thursday morning he could hardly walk and by 10:30 he was having trouble breathing. An ambulance took him to South Jersey Regional Medical Center and they began doing tests and trying to help him breath better. They conclud...ed that he had sepsis. He started going down hill fast and was placed on a vetilator.

Within a couple of hours he coded for the first time. He coded 3 times total and they weren't able to bring him back the last time. He fought a good fight, he loved with all his heart. He was a great husband and an amazing father. He will be missed and loved always. Thank you all for your kind words and for caring. You all meant a lot to him.

I wish I had something useful to add, other than saying I'll miss his wit.

Every time someone updates his FB with funeral info I'm like, "Oooh. Oh. Yeah, that's not him :-(". It's amazing how a little thing like status updates keep us aware that our friends are out there somewhere and doing ok.
