Is this the guy that lost his daughter to a horrible accident? His son ran her over? Hmmm...maybe not.

Yes, it is. Which makes the song all the more poignant, IMO.

wow, i hadn't heard about that.

was he in petra or something once? i thought he was in some other band, then broke off on his own. i don't really know that much about him, but his name is familiar.

Not that I knew. I had only known him as a solo act.

ok. fine. so i looked him up. (nice looking site.)

looks like he started in '87 and i don't see anyone else listed with him, as in, band-wise:

And I think he's too young to have been in Petro. IIRC, they were formed in the mid-70s or so, when SCC was in his early teens.

don't know about that. petra changed people multiple times over. they'd join, play, then leave and go solo. the early petra is very different than the late petra. i think the imperials were the same way.

Good point. I wish I could remember who I thought he was when I first saw his name. It was someone else who was contemporary when we were in HS...

That one doesn't ring a bell. Someone who was contemporary to Andrus, Blackwood & Company and Michael W. Smith and that crowd.
barefootmeg wrote on Dec 22, '09
yeah, steve camp was the same time period.

never heard of andrus, blackwood & company.

I barely remember them. They were small enough that they stayed at my then-girlfriend's house when they came toured in our area.
